The Arab-American Friendship Center (AAFC) serves the Arabic community of Dearborn, Michigan. The Center offers English language classes for most levels of learners.  We also offer classes for GED preparation, Citizenship preparation, Computer skills and Arabic.  These classes are offered in friendship, with no cost to make it possible for all to come and receive the help they need.

- Our goal is to help our community through these programs.

Please feel free to explore this site, stop by the Center or contact us to find out more about the AAFC and how you can help.

Welcome to the Arab-American Friendship Center which began 1994. We continuously strive to meet the felt needs of the Dearborn/Detroit Arab community.  The ability to speak, read and write English is essential to fully participating in American society.  Our students often express their longings for the security associated with becoming U.S. citizens.

To address these needs, we have expanded our English classes to 5 levels from basic literacy to advanced English. We offer classes during both daytime and evening hours.  Our citizenship classes are in demand because our graduates score very high when they take their U.S. Citizenship exams.  At the requests of our community, we have added G.E.D. preparation classes and have built an Internet Center for public use.

A key to our success is our highly motivated service providers.  Many are retired teachers who love to teach and have the time to mentor their students and the flexibility to teach during the daytime or evening hours.  It is our joy to serve our community by addressing the needs of the Arab immigrants.

If you would like additional information or to visit the Center, please contact me at aafctr@aol.com or 734-262-2120.

Serving together,

Dr. Basem Qusous
